Happy to say that from 11.30 tomorrow, you’ll be able to join us for a drink again! We’re looking forward to seeing you all again, and to meeting some of you for the first time.
We’ve been busy putting things in place to make your visit safe but still as relaxing as possible, most things you won’t actually see. All staff will be temperature tested before work and increased handwashing has already become the norm. We will be using anti-viral surface cleaners and now also UVC sanitisation for your and our protection.
Some changes will be more noticeable though. When you come through the door, we will ask and record your name and telephone number for the track and trace scheme, should it be necessary. Hand sanitiser will be at every entrance to the building (and other places), and we ask you to use them as you come in please.
We are really lucky to have lots of space, both inside and out, but have still made some changes for your safety. A few tables have disappeared and chairs may not face the way that you are used to – this is all to do with social distancing, and they can’t be moved. Tables have had to be stripped of all unnecessary items and menus have to be thrown away after each use. No more newspapers available for now – that’s not our choice, as we love to see people reading…books are still on our shelves, and you read at your own risk – they aren’t sanitised.
The same sort of thing has happened in rooms, so no cushions or throws any more, we’re sorry, but it’s a very simplistic look!
One major change (at least for now) is that in the evening we will no longer be serving food in our bar, and we will be keeping that for you to have drinks in. We are sorry that you won’t be allowed to sit at the bar for now, and have to be served drinks at the table. We’ll still find a way to have a chat as usual though!
Unfortunately, this means that we can’t serve food in an evening to people with dogs – we’re sorry about that, as we love dogs, but we have had to make these alterations to meet the enforced changes. The only exceptions to this will be to provide dinner for the guests who are staying in our two pet friendly rooms and for registered assistance dogs. As we have more limited space now, please remember to book a table – please don’t forget as we’d hate to disappoint you!
At lunchtime it’s much the same as before with food being served from 12 – 3, as usual in the bar, with or without your four-legged pal. You’re welcome to come for drinks anytime from 11.30 until closing time…
We hope that you will understand that we, like you, are trying to stay safe and well and we’ll be trying our best to welcome you the same as usual. Thank you for your amazing messages of support over the past few difficult months, they were really appreciated – but now, let’s see you all in the flesh!
